Build an outpost on the frontier

Frontier Command puts you in charge of a small expedition. Assign harvesters to alloy and energy deposits, erect production buildings and train units before enemy commanders reach your base. Scout through fog, use terrain and river crossings, then strike at opposing command cores. Learn the systems through eight training lessons, fight custom skirmishes on seven maps or work through a seven-stage campaign.

How to control your forces

  • On a computer, left-click to select, right-click to issue context commands, use WASD to move the camera and scroll to zoom. Press B for construction, F for attack-move and X to stop. On a phone, tap units and command buttons, drag to pan and pinch to zoom; the Selection, Actions and Map tabs keep controls accessible in portrait or landscape.
  • Build and gatherSend harvesters to alloy and energy deposits, construct new buildings and keep your army supplied.
  • Control each battleMove squads, attack, retreat, patrol, repair damaged units and set rally points for new troops.
  • Choose your challengePlay eight guided training lessons, custom battles with one to three AI rivals or seven connected campaign stages.
  • Explore seven mapsFight across rivers, bridges, plains and other terrain while fog of war hides unexplored positions.

Is Frontier Command free?

Yes. It is a free single-player strategy game that runs in a WebGL-capable browser without an installer.

Can I play on my phone?

Yes. Touch controls are available in both portrait and landscape orientations.

Does campaign progress save?

Cleared campaign stages and best times are saved locally in this browser. Live battles do not resume after a page reload.
