Fight for the Halcyon Drift

The Vigil, a long-dormant machine fleet, has returned to the Halcyon Drift. Take control of Wren Callis and the experimental KV-7 Kestrel. Dodge incoming fire, break enemy formations, extract valuable salvage and outfit your ship for the next jump. The first sector lets you learn the controls in peace; beyond it, the threat escalates.

Controls

  • Steer with the mouse; W/S applies thrust and brakes, A/D strafes, Space/Ctrl moves vertically, Q/E rolls and Shift boosts. V switches between cockpit and chase views. On touchscreens, move with the left stick, aim with the independent right stick, hold Fire or Boost to shoot or accelerate, and open Systems for repair, jump and other secondary controls. Play in portrait or landscape; the suggestion to rotate is optional.
  • CombatFly freely between asteroids and switch between cockpit and chase cameras. Each fitted weapon rewards a different fighting distance.
  • MiningThe battlefield is also a source of supplies. Break mineral veins and wreck blackboxes, or risk entering a hollow asteroid for richer salvage.
  • EngineeringYour haul shapes the next encounter. Spend it on immediate repairs or save for stronger weapons, engines and shields during the sortie.
  • ContractsNeutral traffic offers another way to earn resources. Compare contract rewards, deliver cargo and trade with merchants while choosing your own route.
  • Ships & threatA quiet first sector gives you room to learn. Deeper jumps bring greater danger, hunter wings and capital ships that can block your escape.

Field Manual

Flight

Mouse steers; W/S thrusts and brakes, A/D strafes, Space/Ctrl moves vertically, Q/E rolls and Shift boosts. V switches cockpit and chase views. Touch uses independent move and aim sticks, held Fire/Boost and a systems drawer. You can fly in portrait or landscape.

Devices

Shields recover after quiet moments; hull damage needs repair. F toggles cloak, which drains weapon energy faster while moving or boosting and ends when firing. Nearby hostiles prevent cloaking. G stuns enemies within 250 m for four seconds. H consumes nanobots to repair 35 hull. Both abilities have cooldowns.

Mining

Shoot glowing veins for crystals or scrap, then collect the drops. Heavy Vigil ships may drop rare Flux Cores. Large asteroids break into smaller moving rocks; hidden ore and caches release salvage. Explore hollow asteroids, caves and unmarked wreck blackboxes, but watch their defenses.

Engineering

Choose Kestrel, Vanta or Aegis and a difficulty in the Hangar. Tab opens Engineering: repair, restock seekers or buy three ranks of weapon, engine and shield upgrades with salvage. Nearby enemies lock crafting. These upgrades last only for this sortie. At death, score becomes Legacy credits for permanent hull, damage, boost and starting-stock improvements.

Sector travel

The first sector is peaceful with two Flux Cores. Hold J with a clear route to spend two cores on a jump; releasing or taking a hit cancels it. A capital ship can suppress jumps. Aim at a planet to land for free; aim skyward and hold J to return. Planet bases, caves, stashes and defenses retain their state when revisited during the same sortie.

Questions before launch

Is the game free to play in a browser?

Yes. This single-player Exiru game is free and needs no installer. Use a browser with working WebGL graphics; performance depends on your device.

What do I do in the game?

Defeat hostile machine ships, salvage wrecks and asteroids, and spend resources on ship upgrades. Take up to two contracts at once, trade with neutral haulers and jump to more dangerous sectors. Civilian ships are not enemies.

How do the phone controls work?

Use the left stick to move, the right stick to aim, and Fire to shoot. Systems opens secondary controls, including repair and jump. Portrait and landscape are supported; the landscape suggestion is optional.

How can I improve my ship?

Press Tab to open Engineering. Spend recovered resources on repairs, missiles and upgrades to weapons, engines or shields. These upgrades last for the current flight; Legacy improvements carry over.

How do I reach the next sector?

With a clear route, hold J to jump; each jump consumes two Flux Cores. Releasing J, taking damage or a nearby flagship can interrupt it. Aim at a planet to land without spending cores.

What persists after destruction or closing the page?

Destruction ends the run and banks score as Legacy credits. Legacy upgrades and Hangar preferences use this browser's local storage. Live mission progress and in-run cargo do not survive a refresh. Clearing browser data removes local progress; cross-device sync is not provided.
